Bayaan Academy

Overview

I have worked with Bayaan Academy for over three years and counting, photographing staff headshots, student yearbook portraits, graduation ceremonies, fundraising events, and group photos.

The yearbook work alone covered more than 200 students. To keep that many portraits consistent, I set up a paper background for a clean, repeatable gray backdrop — the look that holds a school yearbook together from page to page.

Beyond the portraits, I have covered the school’s graduation ceremonies and returned each year to document them. I have also shot video for a couple of their events, including a fundraiser they hosted with food and programming to raise funds. I recorded the event, edited it, and delivered and uploaded the finished video for them.

Everything is captured on my Panasonic Lumix S5IIX. Portraits and yearbook work run through Capture One for consistent tethering and raw processing, and the event videos are cut and color graded in DaVinci Resolve so the footage from different occasions feels like one body of work.
